We had 12 players brave the heat this Sunday for a great skirmish. Was good to see some new faces take a long drive to check out Kashistan. We ran two skirmishes with Tan being the victor of both! Croaker should be back running and gunning sometime in June, hopefully we can start seeing some more players come out. I know the board situation is a real problem and people have not been able to register, post, send PM, etc… We are currently working on this issue and trying to decide the best course of action.
Next Kashistan game will be on the 22nd see you guys then!
From Alpha’s AAR:
It’s getting hotter but 12 combatants showed and evenly divided green and tan. Croaker was there for a while and expects to be playing again in July (I would goldbrick until October when the weather is more condusive but Croaker has been out for quite a while). We easily divided six green (JP, Cherry, Raven and Dad and two new guys Chuck and Tyler)and six tan (Doc, Lobo, Boxman, Blaster, Jager and Alpha), and started with a scenario with green at the firebase and tan at the pond. Green needed to take the rock crossing to open a supply route and tan was to refuse them and then take the firebase. Tan took a two pronged approach with Jager, Boxman and Blaster on the far side of the crossing, and Doc, Lobo and Alpha on the near side. Green came down on tan and several tan were taken out but return fire kept green from securing their objective. Alpha had a sweet kill on JP who was charging across the rock crossing in true Wittman style. After quite some time and a lot of attrition on both sides, tan set upon the firebase only to find it unoccupied and Green routed.
After lunch (and Doc’s departure) we undertook a scenario where three tan were in the com building and short of ammo (semi auto firing only) with two tan assigned the task of infiltrating greens perimiter around the com station and resupplying tan in the com building. Blaster and Alpha (the resupply team) cut across the bunker area and crossed the Rubicon to get to the com. To their surprise the attack was ensuing on the opposite side of the com building and they had a cakewalk into the com with the ammo supply. Now on full auto they had the upper hand. Chuck almost came in the building at one point, and three tan were down at one time, but thanks to shelter and respawning tan survived the charge. Raven’s dad almost gave Alpha a heart attack as he crawled to within three feet of Alpha and calmly exclaimed “safety kill” but Blaster was right there to return the favor. Alpha respawned out to a big tree to get a bearing on who was left and spied Raven who saw Alpha and moved very quickly (Alpha envies teenage agility) but before a confrontation could ensue the game was called.
There was a plan for a third scenario to play back to the staging area, but several green had already been vanquished and headed back to the cars. It’s probably a good thing because I was bushed anyway. Except for the heat this was an ideal match, with even sides and gung ho participants. I woke Kashi up after the match to deliver the field fees, and he says he will participate at the next match in two weeks. Jager suggested that we start earlier and everyone agreed that we would try an 8:30 starting time for June 22 to try and beat the heat.
