Well it was an exciting Sunday in Derby Kansas at Frog Holler the field that hosted End of Days. Typically I am not a fan of the multi-team games. I think it too often causes a bunch of chaos (not the good kind), too much going on at once and it just become X way force on force, but EoD seemed to pull it off pretty well. Of course it helped that I was with the “Family” which was the largest faction. The scenarios were well laid out and the briefing more or less covered every aspect of play. The first half of the day was basically a conflict of food stores and finding clues which would lead you to hidden food caches. The second half of the day delt with protecting water supply from being infected with the “plague” and then battle royale for control of the town.
I really had a great time at this game. Frog Holler is really a great field for both paintball and airsoft. The site itself was great pre-fab shelters with picnic tables, a full kitchen – I mean a first class staging and parking areas, everything was top notch. The only bitch I have is how initial check in was handled which delayed the days event by about two hours.
The staff was amazing! The admin staff was on the ball 100% of the time. We had a few players go down due to the heat and they were quickly treated by the staff and given medical atention. I had no issues with admins or any other players, everyone very helpful and polite. One of the best staffed events I have ever been to.
I was awe struck with Airsoft Sports Unlimited’s store, not only was it staffed by great people, but was stocked with top of the line gear at basically Internet prices which really amazed me. It is just a beautiful store inside, if you get a chance drop in you wont be disappointed.
Thanks LoTone, STAC82 team and sponsors for a great event! You can bet we will all be back for more there in Derby!
Just make the weather a little cooler next time!
