I don’t mean that in a Barrack Obama way either. All things need to evolve in order to grow, this site is no different.
OkAirsoft was the main web resource for our area, but with it’s admin working long hours out of State it was difficult for him to find the time to fix the sites issues. This was causing problems with the community getting organized, hosting skirmishes and so forth. I created Kashistan.org because of the lack of a “properly” working Oklahoma airsoft community site.
The last few years have seen a fracture of the airsoft community in Oklahoma. I don’t mean this in a bad way, but with the lack of a centralized site the local area communities set up their own small forums to fill the gap. I hoped Kashistan would tie everyone together, which it did to a degree but it seems we have a smattering of other forums around the state.
In the next few weeks Kashistan.org will be transformed into Oklahoma Airsoft. This site will be reachable by three different names – Kashistan.org (can’t forget our roots!), OklahomaAirsoft.com (Thanks to Rick Kastner!), Okairsoft.net and Okairsoft.org (easier on the keystrokes!).
The point of this evolution is to BRING the community TOGETHER. Current players and future players should not have to go search three or more forums to find out events and news in their area as well as in the over Ok MilSim and airsoft community. We need to have a central place to post and find this information.
I believe this site has an excellent track record over the last two years and can accomplish this goal.
Why, you? Why this site? You might ask — because I care, I am willing to put the time in, I am at the local games, the national games, I know the community and frankly someone needs to do this.
What I am asking instead of having the OKC forums, and the Stillwater forums, SEOK forums, etc… that we just simply combine all our efforts under one roof. I will be more than happy to help accommodate group admins and set them up regional forums and whatever they need with in reason.
My vision is to have one united, consolidated community resource that is reliable, easily usable without basis for any clique or groups of players. New players or veterans, everyone will receive the same access and treatment.
I will do the work, but in the end I will need “everyones” support in order to make it a sucess.
Regards,
JP
