GCode SOC Drop leg w/ RTI

Not sure I am sold on the GCode over the 6004 yet.
I'm pretty satisfied with my 6004, I don't have any pressing reason to try a different rig yet. But, when I get a hold of a G19, I want to make my own OWB Kydex holster.
I don't like the Drop-Leg platform as much, I had to modify mine with a heat gun to give it more of a "curve". The platform edges or much more ridge than the SL's. I also like how the strap is looped through twice on the SL drop leg instead of once on the GCode. Another thing that might be an issue is how the hood on the GCode's springs open with a thumb button release. I can see myself popping the hood open while crawling, etc... and possibly losing the sidearm. Now there is secondary retention you can set, but not sure if it would keep the sidearm in.

The GCode RTI system is very nice and allows you to sue your holster in many various applications with little investment. Also the changeable cowl is very nice for changing pistols, adding lights, etc... instead of buying a totally new holster you just buy the lower you need.

The draw on the Gcode is jsut about the same as the SL, the holster itself is a bit more light. The construction is top notch, feels very solid.

I will write something up between the SL and GCode when I get time actual practical usage with the Gcode out int he field.
I like the single strap GC over the double SL. I wear mine high so the second strap just dont work for me.

No I mean how it loops through the platform twice, not two actual straps.

I guess that would take up real estate for mounting options though.
Posted ImageThis puts more strap with grip against your leg for less movement
You'd think it actually allows the platform to slide around more, but I have yet to field it.

Interesting topic, fellas. Now you've got me interested too. Not many people put a ton of thought into their holsters. Quite frankly, most people just put up with whatever they buy for too long, and it's usually just a crappy, floppy nylon "one size fits most" holster. I will be looking harder at this stuff once I get either a KWA or KJW pistol. Not sure which yet.
