I was going through my gear after Cover Action last night, and was going to set off my Impact Frag in a storage bin to dispel all the BBs and Gas.

After dropping in in the bin and setting the trigger off nothing happened. I picked the Frag up and could tell the triggering mechanism had gone off so I just figured all the propane had leaked out. I began to take the top section off to re-arm the frag and blamo - all the gas vented shooting the core out. Now I have no idea how the frag did not go with the trigger released, but the core shooting out could have put an eye out.

So the side of safety, make sure you always disarm those frags via the bottom regardless even if the trigger has been tripped and/or you think the frag has no gas inside.

Does the Impact disarm the same as the timer, by unscrewing the cap on the bottom?

What is an airsoft veteran? A vet participates in his craft often, or has in the past. A vet shows up for games as a routine, and shows professional deportment on the field. A vet strives to become a knowledgeable adversary, and as hard as it may seem at the time, can be gracious in defeat and humble in victory (nobody likes a braggart or a sore loser). A vet does accumulate an array of gear/weapons as he moves along in his endeavor to be competitive, and often learns the ins and outs of equipment modification and maintenance. A vet is usually glad to be helpful, but sometimes cannot hide his disdain for the substandard. A vet will usually step up if asked to fill a leadership role, and will just as willingly accept a subordinate position (the most fun in this game is at the grunt level anyway). Above all, the vet respects all who play the game honorably for he realizes without the others he would just plink at targets.

Actually if you contact AI, you can get a replacement core.
I had a problem with one of mine and they sent me one free of charge, but with anything YMMV.

Yea, you can get shuttle replacements...Carl is a good guy and will most likely help you out.

I learned that when you load and unload a AI Tornado, you should and must wear eyepro. The last time I "unloaded" my impact grenade, after WHII, I handed my wife and son PB masks and said don them... Once proper eye and face protection was on I threw the impact grenade at their feet...My wife said "what was that for?" and my son said "Do it again, Dad"!
